Board of Trustees grants faculty appointments, promotions

At the Washington University in St. Louis Board of Trustees meeting Oct. 6, the following faculty members were appointed with tenure or promoted with tenure, effective that day unless otherwise noted.

Appointment with tenure

Timothy Bartley as professor of sociology in Arts & Sciences;

Sanjoy K. Baruah as professor of computer science and engineering at the School of Engineering & Applied Science;

Juliane Bubeck-Wardenburg as professor of pediatrics at the School of Medicine;

Hedwig E. Lee  as professor of sociology in Arts & Sciences;

Jonathan B. Losos as professor of biology in Arts & Sciences (effective when he joined the university in January);

Mark Lowe, MD, PhD, as professor of pediatrics at the School of Medicine;

Michael Rauchman as professor of medicine at the School of Medicine;  and

Paul Joseph Scheel as professor of medicine at the School of Medicine.

Promotion with tenure

Thomas J. Brett to associate professor of medicine and of cell biology and physiology at the School of Medicine (took effect Jan. 1);

Li-Shiun Chen, MD, to associate professor of psychiatry at the School of Medicine;

Donald Franklin Conrad to associate professor of genetics and of pathology and immunology at the School of Medicine;

Sharon Cresci, MD, to associate professor of medicine and of genetics at the School of Medicine;

Joseph D. Dougherty to associate professor of genetics and of psychiatry at the School of Medicine;

John R. Edwards to associate professor of medicine at the School of Medicine (took effect Jan. 1);

Stephanie Ann Fritz, MD, to associate professor of pediatrics at the School of Medicine;

Yongjian Liu to associate professor of radiology at the School of Medicine; and

Daniel T. Mamah, MD, to associate professor of psychiatry at the School of Medicine.
