Question: Thurtene, the oldest student-run carnival in the United States, returns to campus this weekend. It has operated without interruption as Thurtene since 1935 except for one year. In which year was the carnival not held?

Answer: B) Thurtene did not take place in 1943, when many students were called to serve in World War II. This year’s carnival gets underway at 4 p.m. today.

Congrats to this week’s winner, Erin Urban, a financial analyst at Olin Business School, who will receive an “I Knew WashU” luggage tag!
