Katz wins 2021 Harold Berman Award

Elizabeth Katz, associate professor of law at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, has earned the 2021 Harold Berman Award for Excellence in Scholarship in Law and Religion from the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) for her article Racial and Religious Democracy: Identity and Equality in Midcentury Courts,” published in June in the Stanford Law Review.

The Berman Award recognizes a paper that has made an outstanding scholarly contribution to the field of law and religion by a faculty member at an AALS member school with no more than 10 years of experience as a faculty member.

Katz will receive the award at the AALS annual meeting on Jan 7.
