Speakers planned for schools’ Commencement celebrations

Several distinguished speakers, faculty members and student leaders will take part in Commencement recognition ceremonies for Class of 2024 graduates and their families and guests May 10-13 at WashU.

Jennifer Pahlka, founder of Code for America and former U.S. deputy chief technology officer, will deliver an Assembly Series address followed by a chat with Philip Payne at the School of Medicine. Eric P. Newman Education Center, Medical Campus.



Virtual talk on health equity support

12:30–1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7

Sonyia Richardson, of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, will discuss her “Humanizing First” approach for developing community-engaged interventions.



Seminar on care for cancer survivors

3:30–5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8

Larissa Nekhlyudov, of the Harvard Medical School, will give a talk on cancer survivorship care as part of the Siteman Cancer Center Seminar Series. Eric P. Newman Education Center, Seminar Room B.

‘Slingshot’ exhibit opens Friday

The Kemper Art Museum will highlight thesis projects by candidates from this year’s graduating class of the Sam Fox School’s Graduate School of Art. The exhibit, which features a range of artistic practices and mediums including painting, sculpture and photography, will open at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, and remain on display through July 29.
