Nancy K. Peterson, LA85, was honored with the 2022 Don Fiedler Excellence in Criminal Defense Award, bestowed annually to a member of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Bar by the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. Peterson was recognized for “her tireless dedication, boundless compassion and battle-honed wisdom.”

Ann Davis Shields, LA85, LW93, joined the mediator panel of United States Arbitration & Mediation, the leading provider of mediation and arbitration services. A professor of practice, Shields is also the director of the pretrial practice and settlement program at Washington University School of Law.

Cary J. Mogerman, LW85, was installed this year as president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the country’s top professional organization for matrimonial and family law attorneys. Mogerman is a shareholder in the St. Louis firm of Carmody MacDonald P.C.

Thomas S. Chang, MD85, was tapped for the Gold Medallion Award by the Pennsylvania Radiological Society for his contributions to society and the field of radiology.

Daniel Smith, LA85, was promoted to adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, Global Campus where he teaches courses in business law and ethics. Employed at Under Armour, Inc., as senior counsel for technology, Smith is president of the Baltimore Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Sieglinde (Talbott) Peterson, LA85, LW91, is the director of people and culture at Kermit PPI, a tech company in Hunt Valley, Md. The company’s software equips supply-chain managers, surgeons and executives with real-time data on implantable medical device transactions, saving hospitals millions of dollars. Bryan Ewbank, EN85, SI85, is a software-language developer at Nvidia, focusing on programming the behavior of autonomous vehicles.

Wendi Alper-Pressman, LW85, a partner with Lathrop GPM, was the subject of St. Louis Business Journal’s “St. Louis Character” feature. In the Q&A piece, she shared her love of music, her passion for poker, the importance of mentoring, and how she met her husband, Norman Pressman, LA70, LW74. 

Daniel Smith, LA85, joined Under Armour as an attorney and is handling technology-based transactions. He writes that he’s working from home due to COVID-19 and is counting on the pros at the WashU medical school to help solve the pandemic, so he can work in his new office.

Sanford J. Boxerman, BU85, a Capes Sokol shareholder, was selected to the Missouri Lawyers Weekly 2020 POWER 30 List for White Collar Defense. Boxerman was also named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
