Parenting, child care services have most potential to help low-income families
Child care, parenting and child health/health care are important factors in improving the lives of children in low-income families, according to a new study from the Brown School, which surveyed 211 helpline staff.

Deadline for entry into child-care center lottery May 27
The lottery for the first round of enrollment in the Family Learning Center at Washington University will be held Thursday, May 27. The Family Learning Center — scheduled to open Sept. 7, 2010 — will offer care for 156 children of faculty, staff and students from the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years.
Child-care center Web site debuts
The Web site for Washington University’s planned child-care facility, wustl.edu/childcare, came online Jan. 25. The Web site provides more information on the university’s planned 19,900-square-foot child-care center, which will open Sept. 7, 2010.
Washington University to open child-care facility on North Campus in 2010
Washington University in St. Louis will open a child-care facility on North Campus by the Fall 2010 semester, announced Henry S. Webber, executive vice chancellor for administration. The new center will offer care for 150-175 children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 6 years.
