On the Danforth Campus, grotesques and bosses dot the landscape, from halls dating to the 1904 World’s Fair to those only a few years old. Although these creatures are longtime fixtures, the stories behind many of them remain a mystery.

Hold the date: Danforth Campus Staff Day May 20​

Save the date for the annual Staff Day event organized to recognize outstanding efforts by Danforth Campus staff members throughout the year. This year’s event will be held on Monday, May 20.

Staff Day set for May 21

Danforth Campus employees are invited to relax, have fun and celebrate with co-workers on Staff Day, Monday, May 21. Softball, volleyball, bike rides and bingo are just some of the many activities offered at Staff Day, a daylong celebration organized by the Office of Human Resources to recognize Danforth Campus staff members and show the university’s appreciation for their work throughout the year.

Earth Day events April 20-24 on Danforth Campus

Earth Day is Sunday, April 22, and Washington University’s Office of Sustainability is commemorating the day on the Danforth Campus by organizing several events during April, including a bioswale planting, panel discussion and more.

WUSTL Sprint Triathlon to be held April 1

Do you swim, bike and run? Register now for the 3rd Annual Washington University Sprint Triathlon to be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 1, on the WUSTL campus and in Forest Park.

750 new trees, and counting

WUSTL community members help place soil around the 750th tree to be planted on the Danforth Campus since 2008. The tree, a Swamp White Oak, was planted Dec. 15 and is located next to Brown Hall along the new Centennial Greenway bike path. Currently, the Danforth Campus is home to approximately 3,800 trees.
