Washington University affirms commitment to freedom of expression
Washington University in St. Louis is affirming its commitment to an open exchange of ideas by strongly endorsing a statement of principle regarding freedom of expression, as written by members of its faculty.
Washington University Libraries introduce Open Scholarship repository
Washington University Libraries have announced the launch of Open Scholarship (openscholarship.wustl.edu), a new institutional online repository providing access to the scholarly output of faculty, students and staff from WUSTL. Developed following the Faculty Senate’s passage of an Open Access Resolution in May of 2011, Open Scholarship is a further step in the university’s commitment to make scholarship and creative works freely and easily available to the world community.
Faculty Senate adopts Open Access Resolution
The WUSTL Faculty Senate adopted an Open Access Resolution that encourages faculty members to make their scholarly and creative works freely available online. The resolution also includes a recommendation for University Libraries and the Bernard Becker Medical Library to develop the capacity to capture faculty scholarship, make it publicly accessible and preserve it over time.
