The nip in the air is a reminder not only of the coming autumn but of flu season. And for any Washington University employee who works with or near patients, it means it’s time to get a flu shot.

It’s that time of year again — time to get your seasonal flu vaccine. And this year, the vaccine is required for all students and employees on both the Danforth and Medical campuses who work with patients or in buildings where patient care is provided or clinical research occurs.
Flu vaccinations available to students, employees
Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1, seasonal flu vaccines will be available to School of Medicine employees and students. Vaccines also will be available to students and some employees on the Danforth Campus. New this year is that the vaccine is required for all students and employees who engage in patient care or work in buildings where patient care is provided or clinical research occurs. Flu vaccines begin Oct. 2 for medical school employees
Seasonal flu vaccines will be offered to School of Medicine faculty and staff at no cost beginning Tuesday, Oct. 2. The medical school recommends that all employees, even those with no direct patient contact, get a vaccine.
