University-wide voter registration Sept. 18

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service is coordinating a university-wide voter registration campaign Tuesday, Sept. 18. On that day, the institute will conduct Missouri voter registration and provide information on absentee ballot registration.

DUC renovations begin March 19

A three-phase construction project will bring the Gephardt Institute for Public Service into the Danforth University Center (DUC) and consolidate student media groups on campus. The Gephardt Institute and key student media — including Student Life, WUTV and KWUR 90.3 FM — will be grouped on the center’s third floor adjacent to the DUC Recording Studio. Construction begins March 19.

WUSTL among top producers of Peace Corps volunteers

WUSTL has been named one of the top universities nationwide for producing Peace Corps volunteers. The Peace Corps recently released the “Top Colleges” list, which ranks WUSTL No. 21 among medium-sized (5,000-15,000 undergraduates) universities. Currently, 24 alumni are serving as Peace Corps volunteers.

Memories and stories subject of ‘Meet the Leaders’ panel discussion

Experts on memory, writing and storytelling will gather at Washington University in St. Louis at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, as part of the Woman’s Club of Washington University’s “Meet the Leaders” panel discussion series. The panel discussion, titled “Memories: Telling Women’s Stories,” will explore topics such as memory as a cognitive function and effective ways to record stories from the past.

Public service focus of Greitens’ talk

Eric Greitens, PhD, chief executive officer of The Mission Continues, will address the importance of public service in his upcoming lecture, “Inspiring Leadership in Challenging Times.” Sponsored by the Assembly Series and the Gephardt Institute for Public Service, the talk will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, in Room 118, Brown Hall. It will be followed by a reception and service project in Brown Lounge.
