WUSTL’s Lifelong Learning Institute to host information session for prospective members

Washington University’s Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) will host an information session titled “Show Me LLI” for prospective members from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the university’s West Campus. The LLI is at 9 N. Jackson Ave. in Clayton, Mo. The event, which will feature an overall orientation followed by several sample classes, is free and open to senior adults ages 55 and older.

Prestigious recognition from French government

Alumna Anna DiPalma Amelung, PhD, a facilitator in WUSTL’s Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI), was inducted as a Chevalier dans L’Ordre des Palmes Académiques (Knight in the Order of Academic Palms) for outstanding contributions to the development of French culture and language. Amelung received a medallion on behalf of the French government during a March 22 ceremony and reception at the West Campus Conference Center. Amelung earned a PhD in French from WUSTL in 1980.

The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at Washington University in St. Louis will host an open house titled “Show Me LLI” for prospective members from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. LLI offers a variety of courses that emphasize peer learning and active class participation by senior adults. The event is free and open to senior adults ages 55 and older.

WUSTL’s Lifelong Learning Institute celebrates 15th anniversary

WUSTL’s Lifelong Learning Institute — a community outreach education program for seniors that offers a variety of non-credit academic courses — celebrates its 15th anniversary this spring. LLI courses emphasize peer learning and active class participation.
