30 Washington University graduates join Teach for America

Some 30 Washington University in St. Louis graduates joined Teach for America this year. They are serving high-need students in urban and rural classrooms across America. Teach for America reports that WUSTL consistently has ranked high among mid-sized colleges and universities that contribute students. This year, WUSTL is No. 12.

WUSTL earns top-10 rankings in 19 disciplines

In three separate national ratings — faculty scholarly productivity, black student college graduation rates and the number of National Merit Scholars in the freshman class — Washington University ranks in the top 10. WUSTL ranks as the seventh most productive large research university as measured by the faculty’s scholarly productivity, as well as ranking in the top 10 in five broad areas and 21 specific disciplines, according to Academic Analytics’ Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index (FSP Index), a new quantitative method for ranking doctoral programs at research universities.

Washington University’s medical and social work schools both ranked second in the nation, according to U.S.News & World Report

The Washington University School of Medicine and the George Warren Brown School of Social Work are both ranked second in the nation, according to new graduate and professional rankings released April 2 by U.S. News & World Report magazine. The School of Medicine was tied for second in 2003 and has placed in the top 10 every year since the annual rankings began in 1987. It has ranked first in student selectivity — a measurement of student quality based on Medical College Admission Test scores, undergraduate grade-point average and the proportion of applicants selected — every year since 1998.

Forbes Magazine ranks M.B.A. program 12th best in U.S. in ‘return-on-investment’

Forbes Magazine has ranked the M.B.A. program at the University’s Olin School of Business No. 12 among 67 U.S. business schools. The Forbes rankings measure best “return on investment” for M.B.A. graduates of the Class of 1998. For this year’s survey, Forbes sent out 18,000 questionnaires to full-time graduates of M.B.A. programs around the world. With a five-year gain of $120,000 over tuition and foregone salary, the Olin School jumped eight places, from No. 20 in Forbes’ last ranking of M.B.A. programs in 2001.

U.S. News Ranks Washington University in Top 10

Washington University in St. Louis – consistently ranked among America’s 20 best national universities – is now ranked in the top 10. The university is tied with Dartmouth College for ninth place in undergraduate programs among the nation’s best national universities, according to U.S. News & World Report magazine. It is the highest-ranked national university in the Midwest.

Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is tied for 2nd in the nation, according to new graduate and professional rankings released today by U.S. News and World Report magazine. It is the highest ranking in the school’s history. In all, U.S. News has ranked 18 of Washington University’s graduate and professional programs in the top 10 of their respective fields, and 46 graduate and undergraduate programs in their top 25.
