Saturday Science takes a paradoxical turn
The popular Saturday Science seminar series celebrates its 20th year by tackling on paradoxes, those fascinating little conundrums that are sometimes just words colliding but other times are cracks in our understanding of the world that, when prised open, give access to a much deeper understanding. The first lecture is Saturday, April 6.
Saturday Science looks at unusual experiments
At Washington University in St. Louis this
semester, the Department of Physics and University College, both in Arts
& Sciences, will describe a few great experiments in physics.
Four lectures will be held at 10 a.m. on
four consecutive Saturday mornings, March 10–31, in the Hughes Lecture
Room, Room 201 in Crow Hall.
Saturday Science focuses on Nobel laureates in physics
WUSTL physics professors will explore “Nobel Laureates Whom We Have Known: Scientists and Citizens” during the 2011 Saturday Science seminar series. The 2011 Saturday Science seminar series — sponsored by the Department of Physics and University College, both in Arts & Sciences — begins Saturday, April 16. The lectures are free and tailored for the general public.
