A trio of engineering students at Washington University in St. Louis is helping to expand the solar power-generating capabilities at Tyson Research Center, which has frequent outages.
The solar development industry in Missouri is likely to take a particularly hard hit as a result of a recently announced import tariff on solar cells and panels, according to Phil Valko, assistant vice chancellor for sustainability at Washington University in St. Louis.
Solar panels are being installed on the rooftop of the building at 4488 Forest Park Ave. on the Medical Campus. The building houses the Washington University Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Forest Park Pediatrics.
The electric car charging station in front of Brauer and Whitaker halls on the Washington University in St. Louis campus is now getting a boost from the sun after workers installed solar panels atop the structure July 30.
