Reaching for higher ground
“Higher Ground: Honoring Washington Park Cemetery, Its People and Place” will open March 3 at the Sheldon Art Galleries. The exhibition includes works by artists Jennifer Colten, Denise Ward-Brown and Dail Chambers. All three will discuss their projects during a gallery talk April 7 and in a panel discussion at the Missouri History Museum May 24, among other events.
MEDIA ADVISORY: Scholars gather in St. Louis to talk about ‘A Great City From the Start’
Scholars from across the nation will help kick off St. Louis’ 250th “Birthday Bash” weekend when they provide their perspectives on the city’s historical significance during a daylong symposium Friday, Feb. 14, at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park. The symposium will be held from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. in Lee Auditorium. The symposium luncheon will be held at Washington University in St. Louis.
University Archives debuts blog on Washington University, St. Louis history
Staff members from WUSTL’s University Archives have started a blog, Bears Repeating: History and Happenings from Washington University Archives. The blog will focus on a range of subjects from WUSTL and St. Louis history to updates on archives-related events and projects.
