Angela Peacock, a student at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, is among 10 students nationwide to be awarded a Veterans of Foreign Wars-Student Veterans of America Legislative Fellowship, a semester-long academic experience.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth to speak at Veterans Day Celebration

U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, an Army veteran and double amputee, and Robert A. McDonald, former secretary of veterans affairs, will take part in the university’s Veterans Day celebration at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in Edison Theatre. It’s more good news for Washington University veteran groups, which also successfully lobbied the university to hire its first veteran student services advisor.

WUVets wins national award

WUVets, a veterans group at Washington University in St. Louis, was named Chapter of the Year by the Student Veterans of America (SVA), a national organization that provides resources and scholarships to college veterans. WUVets leaders James Petersen and Jennifer Goetz, both students at the Brown School, accepted the award at the SVA National Conference in California.
