Researchers identify protein critical in causing chronic UTIs

Researchers have identified a potential way to prevent chronic urinary tract infections (UTIs). Their research points to a key protein that bacteria use to latch onto the bladder and cause UTIs, according to School of Medicine scientists.

Sherry Xiao, a senior in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, is starting to see her work appear all over campus. Xiao designed the logo for the presidential debate that the university will host Oct. 9.

Get to know student playwright Andie Berry

This year’s A.E. Hotchner Playwriting Festival will take place Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1. This year’s winner, “Son of Soil,” was written by Andie Berry, a senior in Arts & Sciences. Berry talks about the play and her writing process.

Employees invited to support United Way through service

For years, university faculty and staff have financially supported the United Way. Now, they may also give their time. Human Resources and WashU Engage have joined to help employees find volunteer opportunities and to encourage them to do so.
