Brown School program helps minority students feel welcome

Nearly 30 percent of U.S. college students drop out in their first year, on average. Underrepresented minority students have a particularly difficult time. A new program through the Brown School aims to help such students feel that they belong on campus.

Washington University Dance Theatre this weekend

“Here.Now.Together,” the 2017 Washington University Dance Theatre concert, will feature seven new works by faculty and visiting choreographers in Edison Theatre Friday through Sunday, Dec. 1-3.

Obituary: Adrienne Glore, former associate dean of students, 75

Adrienne Glore photoAdrienne Glore, who retired from the university in 2008 after 32 years as a beloved member of the student affairs staff, died Nov. 22 of complications related to vascular dementia at Sunrise on Clayton in Richmond Heights, Mo. She was 75.

The building blocks of successful tobacco-control programs are detailed in a new user guide developed by the Center for Public Health Systems Science at the Brown School. The guide recently was published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office on Smoking and Health, which funded the effort.
