Washington University Dance Theatre presents ‘PastForward’ this weekend at Edison

The Performing Arts Department will present “Shadows,” a new work by celebrated choreographer Dana Tai Soon Burgess, as part of “PastForward,” the 2018 Washington University Dance Theatre concert, beginning Friday, Nov. 30. The concert will feature more than 20 dancers performing seven new and original works by faculty and visiting choreographers.

Muslim Student Association Fastathon

6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1

The annual fundraiser benefits a charity and raises awareness about Muslims and Islam. The community is invited to fast for the day and then enjoy a free dinner to learn what Muslims are really like. Gargoyle (lower level of Mallinckrodt Center).

Ismail Royer, an influential voice in American public discourse on Islam, presents the lecture “Human Rights, Counterterrorism and Islamic Reform: An Insider’s View of U.S. Policy Debates.” Busch Hall, Room 100.

Join in ‘Messiah’ sing-along

3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9

The community is invited to join in a production and sing-along of George Frideric Handel’s oratorio “Messiah,” an annual holiday tradition sponsored by the Department of Music in Arts & Sciences. The free concert will take place in Graham Chapel.
