Area universities collaborate on cybersecurity

A group of six St. Louis-area universities, including Washington University, has formed the Gateway Higher Education Cybersecurity Consortium. It brings together area institutional leaders to make St. Louis a frontrunner in cybersecurity education and research.

Mobile phone technology to screen, treat college students

A team led by School of Medicine researchers received a $3.8 million grant to test a mental health phone app to treat depression, anxiety and eating disorders in a study involving 8,000 students at 20 colleges, universities and community colleges.

Emergency system to be tested March 28

Washington University will test its emergency communication system, WashUAlerts, at noon March 28. The test will take place unless there is the potential for severe weather that day or an emergency is occurring at that time.

Student Angela Peacock, at the Brown School, is among 10 nationwide to be awarded a Veterans of Foreign Wars-Student Veterans of America Legislative Fellowship, a semester-long academic experience.

Mary E. Klingensmith, MD, and Gerald L. Andriole, MD, surgeons at the School of Medicine, have been elected to the American College of Surgeons Academy of Master Surgeon Educators. Launched in 2017, the academy recognizes surgeon educators poised to advance the science and practice of surgical education and training.
