Giampietro to give Freund Visiting Artist Lecture

Rob Giampietro, director of design at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, will give the annual Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Visiting Artist Lecture Monday, March 2. At the museum, Giampietro leads a team of more than 20 designers and producers on projects across all media. He previously served as creative lead for Google in New York.

Take part in the latest “Health Policy Matters,” a conversation with health policy leaders. Molly Metzger’s research focuses on local, state and federal housing policies and how they often reproduce patterns of segregation. Hillman Hall, Room 120.

‘Historical Slave Trade and the Modern Business Environment’

Noon Monday, March 2

Lamar Pierce, professor at Olin Business School, will discuss his recent research highlighting how access to finance helps explain the link between the historical African slave trade and current gross domestic product. RSVPs are encouraged. Goldfarb Hall, Room 132.

First Friday at Becker: ‘WashU Women’

2–4 p.m. Friday, March 6

Each month, staff at the Bernard Becker Medical Library offer an informal presentation of themed picks from the library’s renowned collections. The March theme is “WashU Women,” including Nobel Prize-winning neurobiolgist Rita Levi-Montalcini. Becker Library, 7th floor, Medical Campus.
