Midwest-UK dialogue to examine collaborative climate action

The British Consulate-General in Chicago will partner with the Midwest Climate Summit for an online climate action dialogue March 3. The event will feature a panel of speakers including Arts & Sciences’ Beth Martin and the Sam Fox School’s Linda Samuels. The Washington University community is invited to attend.

The Alumni Association welcomes Pepper Schwartz, author and relationship expert on Lifetime’s “Married at First Sight,” for a discussion on dating, relationships and marriage. The moderator will be Arts & Sciences’ Hedwig Lee, co-director of the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity.

James L. Nolan Jr., professor of sociolgy at Williams College, will present the 77th Historia Medica Lecture. Nolan’s latest book is “Atomic Doctors: Conscience and Complicity at the Dawn of the Nuclear Age.”

‘Them & Me: Black Boys’ Mental Health’ panel

4:30–6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24

Kevin Simon, MD, will give a presentation on the care and treatment of Black boys in America. Following the presentation, a group of panelists, including WashU’s Ericka Hayes, MD, Sean Joe and Husain Lateef, will continue the discussion.
