Sam Fox School, CRE2, Pulitzer Arts welcome artist Weber

Jordan Weber, a multidisciplinary artist and activist based in Des Moines, Iowa, has earned a national reputation for creating sculptures, murals, installations and community projects that investigate the intersection of social justice and environmental racism. Now, Weber is exploring questions of incarceration and healing in St. Louis. Weber will discuss his work during the Sam Fox School’s “Environmental Racism and the Arts” panel discussion at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 9.

The Kemper Art Museum presents a talk with artist Christine Sun Kim. The talk will focus on Kim’s mural “Stacking Traumas,” which is on display at the Kemper this year.

Elai Rettig, the Israeli Institute Teaching Fellow at Washington University, presents a series of talks. He will discuss Israeli gas politics March 8 and renewable energy in Israel on March 15.

5 p.m. Wednesday, March 10

Chancellor Andrew D. Martin leads a conversation with Henry S. Webber, executive vice chancellor for civic affairs and strategic planning, and Phil Valko, assistant vice chancellor for sustainability, on the university’s efforts in regard to climate change. A Q&A session will follow.
