Ethic of Service Awards honor those who’ve made a difference

Junior Kennedy Young is among 13 members of the university community who will receive a Virgil Ethic of Service Award during a virtual ceremony Wednesday, April 21. Young is a co-founder of the Reentry Collective, which provides cash assistance to formerly incarcerated people.

The Department of African and African-American Studies in Arts & Sciences welcomes back artist-in-residence Damon Davis for his third talk. Davis is a St. Louis-based award-winning artist whose work explores the formation of identity by power and mythology.



SMART Africa conference

The SMART Africa Center and the International Center for Child Health and Development at the Brown School present the fifth annual conference on child behavioral health in sub-Saharan Africa. The two-day event will feature panels and breakout sessions highlighting sustainable and scalable programs.



Conference on global health and infectious disease

Thursday, April 22– Friday, April 23

The Institute for Public Health presents a two-day conference on the impact of climate change on human migration and disease transmission. Hear about topics related to climate change and infectious disease, including a panel discussion on lessons learned from COVID-19.



PAD presents ‘Tough’

5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22

The Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences presents a play about young people trying to navigate life with limited opportunities. The performance will take place April 22-25 at site-specific green spaces on the Danforth Campus.
