Speakers scheduled for schools’ Commencement celebrations

A number of distinguished speakers, faculty members and student leaders will take part in Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2021 on Thursday and Friday, May 20 and 21, at Washington University. National Basketball Association great and social justice advocate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will deliver the Commencement address.

University to celebrate 2020 graduates

Sunday, May 30

Undergraduate and graduate students from the Class of 2020 will be honored with rescheduled in-person Commencement ceremonies. The celebration is set to take place on Francis Olympic Field. Julie L. Gerberding, MD, the first woman to serve as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will deliver the address.

Precision Medicine at Venture Café

Each month, the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences hosts presentations on related topics. At 4 p.m. May 20, hear from the university’s Hong Chen, PhD, and Aadel Chaudhuri, MD, PhD. Chen will discuss noninvasive diagnosis of brain cancer. Chaudhuri will discuss an innovative approach to liquid biopsy analysis.
