Fox Foundation pledges $10M to endow Sam Fox program

The Sam Fox Ambassadors Graduate Fellowship Program has been permanently endowed thanks to a new $10 million pledge from the Sam and Marilyn Fox Foundation. Each year, the program provides full-tuition waivers for 10 outstanding graduate candidates in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.

Biologists in the laboratory of Hani Zaher in Arts & Sciences examined the modified nucleotides used in COVID-19 vaccines. The modifications faithfully produce the protein products as designed, a welcome sign for future RNA therapeutics.

Joseph Reid, former staff member, 72

Joseph Reid Jr., who was a master carpenter at Washington University for 42 years until his retirement in 2018, died Saturday, Aug. 20, in Branson, Mo. Funeral services will take place Saturday, Aug. 27.
