‘No Boundaries’ MFA dance concert Saturday

Choreographers Kendra Key and Erin Morris will debut new work as part of “No Boundaries,” the 2022 MFA Student Dance Concert, presented by the Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences. “No Boundaries” will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 25, in Edison Theatre in the Mallinckrodt Center.

‘Torkwase Dyson: Bird and Lava’

The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum presents “Torkwase Dyson: Bird and Lava,” open now through July 10. Anchored by a newly acquired work, the display spans painting, drawing, sculpture and animation — along with architectural models relating to Dyson’s new commission for St. Louis’ citywide public art triennial Counterpublic.

African Film Festival to highlight top films, shorts and animated features

The 17th annual African Film Festival at Washington University invites St. Louisans to see Africa’s most acclaimed films on the big screen. This year’s showcase, to be held this weekend, March 24-26, includes six films and a youth matinee. Brown Hall, Room 100.

Pianist Emanuel Ax to perform

7 p.m. Sunday, March 26

Acclaimed pianist Emanuel Ax, who plays with “youthful brio, incisive rhythm, bountiful imagination,” (New York Times) will perform music of Schubert and Liszt as part of the Department of Music in Arts & Sciences’ 2023 Great Artists Series. E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall.
