94th Annual Fashion Design Show set for Saturday

The Sam Fox School will present WashU’s 94th Annual Fashion Design Show Saturday, April 22, in Ridgley Hall’s Holmes Lounge. One of the oldest such shows in the nation, the event will feature dozens of models wearing scores of outfits that together explore the intersection of clothing and culture.

Parks’ acclaimed drama ‘F***ing A’ opens

The Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences will present “F***ing A,” Suzan-Lori Parks’ blistering riff on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “The Scarlet Letter,” April 20-23. Mallinckrodt Center, A.E. Hotchner Studio Theatre.

Friedman Lecture: ‘Mental health and older adults’

Eric Lenze, MD, of the School of Medicine, will give the 22nd Annual Friedman Lecture on new methods of high-quality mental health care for older adults. Eric P. Newman Education Center auditorium, Medical Campus.

Buder Center to host annual Powwow

10 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday, April 22

The 32nd annual Powwow, sponsored by the Brown School’s Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies, will include dancing, vendors and opportunities to learn about Native American history and culture. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Athletic Complex Field House.

This week, Bruce Carlson, in Arts & Sciences, will give a talk on the evolution of sensorimotor integration at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in Rebstock Hall, Room 322. The event also will be livestreamed on the Living Earth Collaborative YouTube channel.
