Wadhwa to deliver Walker lecture on Mars samples

Planetary scientist and WashU alumna Meenakshi Wadhwa will deliver the Robert M. Walker Distinguished Lecture about the Mars Sample Return Program. She will discuss samples that have already been collected, what to expect in the near future and the scientific motivations for this work. The event will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in Whitaker Hall, Room 100.

Institute of Materials Science & Engineering (IMSE) symposium

IMSE will host a one-day symposium in honor of its 10th anniversary highlighting materials research for sensors and sensing. It will feature speakers, facility tours and a poster session and contest. Whitaker Hall, Room 100.

Battle to deliver Homer G. Phillips Public Health Lecture Friday

5:30–8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6

Brenda Battle, an industry leader in health equity, will give this year’s lecture in honor of the historic Homer G. Phillips Hospital in St. Louis. Nathaniel H. Murdock, MD, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the School of Medicine, is this year’s honoree. The event will take place both virtually and at the Eric P. Newman Education Center.
