WashU Dance Collective to perform this weekend

The Washington University Dance Collective, the resident dance company of the Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences, will present “Glimmers,” an evening of new and original choreography, April 5 and 6 in Edison Theatre.

Yuria Celidwen, an author and a senior fellow at University of California, Berkeley’s Othering and Belonging Institute, will discuss the wisdom embedded in Indigenous traditions and its application to urgent societal problems. Brown Hall Lounge.

Freund Lecture: artist Tamara Johnson

The Sam Fox School welcomes artist and educator Tamara Johnson for a lecture on her new exhibition. The exhibition opening will precede the talk. Saint Louis Art Museum.

33rd annual Pow Wow

10 a.m. Saturday, April 6

The Brown School’s Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies will host the 33rd annual Pow Wow, a celebration of American Indian cultures. This year’s theme is “There is Empowerment in Belonging.” Field House.

WashU Giving Day

Wednesday, April 10

WashU will host the second annual universitywide Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraising blitz to encourage community members to support the university’s mission. The day will include information tables at various locations across the Danforth and Medical campuses, snacks and more in Edison Family Courtyard.

Solar eclipse viewing on Danforth Campus

Noon–3:15 p.m. Monday, April 8

The McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences in Arts & Sciences will host an eclipse-viewing event from noon to 3:15 on the Brookings Hall steps on the Danforth Campus. Although it will not be a total eclipse in St. Louis, it will be close. The eclipse can be seen starting at 12:42 p.m. and will reach its maximum coverage at about 2 p.m.
