New mouse model to aid testing of Zika vaccine, therapeutics

A research team at the School of Medicine has established a mouse model for testing of vaccines and therapeutics to battle Zika virus. The mouse model mimics aspects of the infection in humans.

WashU Expert: The central issue of the ‘Panama Papers’

Journalists are analyzing the “Panama Papers,” millions of financial documents offering a look at how public figures hide money offshore. Richard Frankel, of Olin Business School, said it shows the difficulty of government economic intervention.

Relay For Life ‘connects us all’

About 1,200 students, faculty and staff members will gather at Francis Field on Saturday, April 9, for Relay For Life, a 12-hour benefit for the American Cancer Society. Members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon will honor fraternity brother Jacques De Villiers, who died in July.

The Gephardt Institute will hold information sessions today and Thursday, April 7, for prospective applicants interested in the 10-month Urban Fellows Program. Fellows will contribute to the region’s civic efforts and learn more about urban issues.

IDEA Labs Demo Day to be held April 25

RSVP to attend the IDEA Labs Demo Day at 6 p.m. April 25. Students from the Medical and Danforth campuses will demonstrate prototypes for inventions they created to solve health-care problems.
