Free music series begins July 7

St. Louis funk/soul/jazz collective The Liberation Organ Trio will launch Washington University in St. Louis’ 2016 Jazz in July series with a free performance Thursday, July 7.

Sponsored as part of the annual Jazz at Holmes series, Jazz in July will feature four local ensembles performing from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evenings in the Danforth University Center’s Tisch Commons.

On July 14, vocalist Feyza Eren and her group will perform Bossa Nova and jazz standards. Trumpeter Danny Campbell will lead his swing and hard bop quartet July 21. A trio led by bassist Glenn Smith and guitarist Eric Slaughter will conclude the series July 28.
