Allen named vice chancellor and general counsel​

Monica J. Allen, JD, associate vice chancellor, deputy general counsel and chief litigation counsel at Washington University, has been appointed vice chancellor and general counsel, effective July 1, 2016. Allen will succeed Michael R. Cannon, JD, who has announced that he will conclude his tenure June 30 as executive vice chancellor and general counsel.

Lawlor to conclude Brown School deanship

​​Edward F. Lawlor, PhD, dean and the William E. Gordon Distinguished Professor at the Brown School at Washington University, has announced his decision to conclude his deanship on June 30, 2016. Lawlor, who has served as dean since 2004, will remain at the university as the Gordon Professor, and a national search for his successor as dean will be conducted, according to Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton.

David H. Perlmutter, MD, has been named executive vice chancellor for medical affairs and dean of the School of Medicine. His tenure begins Dec. 1. A former Washington University faculty member, Perlmutter succeeds Larry J. Shapiro, MD, who is stepping down after leading the School of Medicine for 12 years.

Lori S. White appointed vice chancellor for students​​

​​Lori S. White, PhD, vice president for student affairs at Southern Methodist University, has been named vice chancellor for students at Washington University in St. Louis. The appointment is effective July 1, according to Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton. White succeeds Sharon Stahl, PhD, who announced last year​ that she would retire at the end of the 2014-15 academic year.​
