Washington University deepens ties with Mekelle University in Africa
A recently inked agreement between Washington University in St. Louis and Mekelle University in Ethiopia will encourage future collaborations in education, scholarship and research between the two universities.
New student cohort welcomed to campus
The McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis recently welcomed the first cohort of students funded by a prestigious new grant from the China Scholarship Council. The three-year renewable program will enable up to six doctoral students per year to pursue research on projects in the areas of life sciences, energy and informatics involving collaborations between Washington University’s McKelvey School of Engineering and Xi’an Jiaotong University.

That effort was evidenced when Washington University recently arranged a cross-disciplinary international symposia highlighting the intersection of social policy, engineering and medicine.
Global collaborations, holistic solutions
In an effort to boost conversation and collaborative options regarding energy choices and their many impacts, Washington University in St. Louis recently held two international forums to address the challenges. The forums also allowed the university to interface with its McDonnell Academy partner institutions.
