PB&Joy food drive runs April 2-14
PB&Joy, the annual universitywide food drive, runs from April 2-14. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate nonperishable, kid-friendly foods or to make a financial donation to Operation Food Search. Drop-off spots are available across the Danforth, Medical, North and West campuses.
PB&Joy food drive kicks off today; supports Operation Food Search
The goal of the campus PB&Joy food drive is to help feed 135,000 hungry children. Campus Kitchen, which boasts 275 WUSTL student volunteers and serves 2,250 meals annually, is one of many organizations that depends on Operation Food Search.

PB&Joy, WUSTL’s annual food drive, is looking for students, staff and faculty to assist in this year’s effort to collect kid-friendly foods for 135,000 St. Louis-area children.
Annual food drive feeds more than 3,000 for a day
The third annual PB&Joy food drive at Washington University in St. Louis yielded 8,372 pounds of food, compared to 4,686 pounds last year. The campaign also raised more than $3,800 in monetary contributions. This year’s total impact is enough to feed 3,042 people for a day.
Campuswide PB&Joy food drive begins April 4
Nearly one in four people living in the City of St. Louis lives in poverty and faces hunger, and local food pantries across the region have experienced a 30 percent increase in requests over the last year. For the third year, Washington University is partnering with Operation Food Search to coordinate the PB&Joy University-Wide Food Drive, which runs April 4-16.
PB&Joy helps feed area’s hungry
The second annual PB&Joy food drive at Washington University in St. Louis yielded 4,686 pounds of food and $4,664 in monetary donations. The cumulative effort is enough to feed 2,338 people for a day, according to Operation Food Search estimates.
Campus-wide food drive PB&Joy begins April 5
WUSTL is once again partnering with Operation Food Search to coordinate the 2nd annual campus-wide food drive, PB&Joy. Last year, the university collected nearly 3 tons of food. The campaign runs from Thursday, April 5, through Monday, April 16, and all faculty, staff and students are urged to participate. Drop-off locations are located in 35 areas across the university’s four campuses.
Volunteers sought for PB&Joy planning committee
PB&Joy, the university-wide food drive, soon will be under way and all faculty, staff and students are invited to join a planning committee. Anyone interested is asked to attend a planning meeting Feb. 2 or 3 in Danforth University Center. Last year’s drive yielded three tons of food for area people in need.
