St. Louis Children’s Specialty Care Center opens in west St. Louis County
Washington University School of Medicine and St. Louis Children’s Hospital have opened a new pediatric medical center — the St. Louis Children’s Specialty Care Center — at Interstate 64/Highway 40 and Mason Road in west St. Louis County. The center welcomed its first patients June 2.

School and hospital team to help create national pediatric research network
The School of Medicine and St. Louis Children’s Hospital are part of a new multi-institutional project that aims to create a national pediatric “learning health system” that will feature an extensive clinical data research network. Feliciano “Pele” Yu Jr., MD, is the project’s principal investigator on the Washington University Medical Campus.
Study confirms benefit of back braces in treating scoliosis
While back braces have been used for decades to treat scoliosis, studies of their effectiveness have been inconclusive. But new results from a clinical trial provide the strongest evidence yet that braces work in a significant percentage of cases. Shown is one of the principal investigators, Matthew B.
