At the recent annual meeting for the Midwest Section of the American Society of Plant Biologists, which was held at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, Washington University undergraduate Kiani Arkus won the award for “Best Undergraduate Presentation,” accompanied by a $100 cash prize, for her work titled “Mechanistic Analysis of Wheat Chlorophyllase Reveals a Connection to the Carboxyesterase Enzyme Family.” Kiani is a sophomore biology major from Honolulu. …
