We are proud to announce Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington University, a significant milestone in the history of our university.

Since our founding more than 150 years ago, Washington University has become one of the world’s leading institutions. Generations of dedicated individuals have worked together to create this great center of teaching, research and patient care. We have so much to be proud of.

Our leadership and success are driven by a passion for excellence and desire to contribute to our community. The impact of our work is making a profound difference, across disciplines and around the world.

We know that a great university has great responsibilities — to its students and to society. We also know that society’s needs today are greater than ever, and we must strive to meet those needs through education and research. Toward that end, six years ago we initiated a strategic planning process to identify our best opportunities for future growth and impact. That process produced one overarching goal: “to enhance our leadership today to benefit America and the world tomorrow.”

By successfully executing our plan, we will continue to prepare talented students to become effective leaders; we will discover new knowledge and expedite its application to challenging problems, from devastating diseases to aging to a sustainable environment and economic prosperity. Leading Together is our best channel for accomplishing just that.

To realize its full promise and potential, Leading Together must be a united effort by our graduates, faculty, staff and friends. Please join us in this important endeavor and share the excitement of our progress in the months and years ahead.
