The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) has awarded Ramesh Agarwal, the William Palm Professor of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, the 2016 Isadore T. Davis Award.
That award, given annually to an outstanding engineering educator, celebrates the spirit and leadership of individuals who make a mark in the collaborative efforts of engineering with industry.
In addition, he received the ASEE’s Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award. The award is given annually by the Mechanics Division for distinguished and outstanding contributions to engineering mechanics education.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineering also will recognize Agarwal in July among a group of distinguished engineers who have contributed significantly to the advancement of science and practice of fluid engineering.
Agarwal, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science in the School of Engineering & Applied Science, has extensive industry experience, having worked with McDonnell Douglas Research Laboratories, the National Institute for Aviation Research and NASA Ames Research Center. His research focuses on computational fluid dynamics and electromagnetics, flow control and bio-fluid dynamics.
