Washington University in St. Louis remains committed to supporting faculty and staff as they continue to manage their work-life balance during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Human Resources recently opened an online portal that outlines the scope of the university’s employee benefits, including child care, elder care and also self-care.

Cotton named assistant vice chancellor for human resources

​Apryle M. Cotton has been named the new assistant vice chancellor for human resources at Washington University in St. Louis, announced Lorraine A. Goffe-Rush, vice chancellor for human resources.Cotton, whose appointment took effect March 3, succeeds Goffe-Rush, who was promoted Dec. 31 to vice chancellor.​

Lorraine Goffe-Rush to become next vice chancellor for human resources

Lorraine A. Goffe-Rush, assistant vice chancellor for human resources at Washington University in St. Louis, has been named vice chancellor for human resources, according to Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton. Goffe-Rush will succeed Ann B. Prenatt, vice chancellor for human resources since 2003, when she retires Dec. 31.

Health open enrollment begins in November

The 2013 health open enrollment for the health/dental plans, the health-care and child-care flex spending plans, the Health Savings Account (HSA) and the Retirement Medical Savings Account (RMSA) will begin on Monday, Nov. 12 and run through Sunday, Dec. 2. This is the only time during the year that employees may enroll in the flex spending plans, HSA and RMSA and may change health plans and/or coverage without a qualifying family status change.

Staff Day set for May 21

Danforth Campus employees are invited to relax, have fun and celebrate with co-workers on Staff Day, Monday, May 21. Softball, volleyball, bike rides and bingo are just some of the many activities offered at Staff Day, a daylong celebration organized by the Office of Human Resources to recognize Danforth Campus staff members and show the university’s appreciation for their work throughout the year.

Health open enrollment Nov. 1-30

The annual health open enrollment period for the health/dental or dental-only plans, the health- and child-care flex spending plans, the Health Savings Account and the Retirement Medical Savings Account will be from Nov. 1-30. Enrollments and changes to these plans made during the open enrollment period and before the Nov. 30 deadline will be effective Jan. 1, 2012. During open enrollment, employees will be able to make changes and enroll through HRMS.

Jarrell named assistant vice chancellor for human resources

Margo Jarrell has been named assistant vice chancellor for human resources, benefits and compensation at WUSTL, effective July 2, 2011, announced Ann B. Prenatt, vice chancellor for human resources. Jarrell arrived on campus April 4 and will replace Thomas W. Lauman, who will retire July 1.
