Rite of passage

The School of Medicine Class of 2015 recites the Student Oath they wrote during orientation at the White Coat Ceremony Aug. 12 at the Eric P. Newman Education Center. The 121 students in the class were given white coats, a longtime symbol of the medical profession.

Celebrating Earth Day

Both the Danforth and Medical campuses at WUSTL held many events to celebrate the week of Earth Day April 18-23. Sharing holiday spirit

School of Medicine students showcase their artistic talents at the Dec. 2 coffeehouse at the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center. Medical students such as Kristen Danley gather a few times a year to sing, play piano and other instruments and read poetry.

Early computer for biomedical research subject of exhibit

A piece of medical and computer history is at the center of a new exhibit at the Bernard Becker Medical Library at Washington University School of Medicine. The Laboratory INstrument Computer (LINC), regarded as one of the first personal computers, will be on display at the Medical School until August then move to the Danforth Campus.

Summer’s bounty

The School of Medicine’s Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April through September in the fountain plaza outside of the Barnes & Noble bookstore.
