Outstanding young scientists

Amy Walker, Ph.D. (left), assistant professor of chemistry in Arts & Sciences, and Amy Shen, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering, flank Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton during a recent ceremony in his office. Wrighton presented plaques to Walker and Shen from the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) in honor of them winning the 2003 Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Achievement Award. The award is a highly competitive, peer-evaluated award given to outstanding young scientists. Walker and Shen each received from ORAU $5,000 research awards, which WUSTL matches.
