This is awarded to a recent graduate whose dissertation is considered to be an outstanding contribution to historical archaeology. Lars Angenent, Ph.D., assistant professor of chemical engineering and a faculty member of the Environmental Engineering Science Program, has received a four-year, $312,205 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for research titled “Improving Stability in Anaerobic Digestion for Animal Waste Treatment by Understanding Microbial Ecology.” Amy Q. Shen, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering, and Christine Floss, senior research scientist in earth and planetary sciences in Arts & Sciences, are co-principal investigators.
