Diverse appeal

Will Ross, M.D., associate dean and director of the Office of Diversity at the School of Medicine, enjoys Ted Drewes ice cream with first-year medical students Kari Wanat (left) and Noopur Gangorpadyay at the Office of Diversity’s annual ice cream social for perspective medical students. The office is dedicated to enhancing and expanding the diversity of the University’s student population while serving as an advocate for a diverse faculty. The office also aims to encourage underrepresented and economically disadvantaged high school and college students to pursue careers in medical science. And by developing a robust clinical outreach program for underserved groups in the surrounding community, Ross explains, the University helps create “a medical center without walls.”
