Sandor J. Kovacs, Ph.D., M.D., associate professor of medicine and director of the Cardiovascular Biophysics Laboratory, gave the Sjostrand lecture titled “What you always wanted to know about diastolic function, but were afraid to ask!” Nov. 29 at the 200th anniversary of the Swedish Society of Medicine in Stockholm. Andrew Rouner, Digital Library director, and Cassandra Stokes, digital projects librarian, delivered a poster presentation “The Reclamation of Dred Scott” at the Chicago Colloquium on Digital Humanities and Computer Science Oct. 21-22. The colloquium brings together researchers in the humanities and computer sciences to discuss current trends in digital scholarship and to explore opportunities for future research. Rouner and Stokes discussed lessons learned from the Dred Scott Case Collection, the first significant digital library project undertaken by Washington University Libraries.
