Danforth Plant Science Center celebration set

The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center will commemorate its 10th anniversary at a community-wide event celebrating science in St. Louis and the center’s international culture at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28.

WUSTL was an original partner of the Danforth Plant Science Center when it formed in August 1999. Numerous center researchers have WUSTL appointments, including director and center president Roger N. Beachy, Ph.D., professor of biology in Arts & Sciences.

“In celebrating our 10th birthday, we are reaffirming our commitment to our mission — to improve the human condition through plant science — and to our region,” Beachy said. “We are delighted to open our facility to members of our community and celebrate our region as a world center for plant science.”

The event, free and open to the public, will be filled with scientific activities and cultural performances. For more information visit danforthcenter.org/birthdayparty or contact Karla Goldstein at 587-1231 or at kgoldstein@danforthcenter.org.
