WUSTL professors offer analysis on election night

Multimedia coverage from television to twitter

Election night media coverage will feature three professors from Washington University on KETC-TV, Channel 9. The professors will be among local political experts and citizens invited to participate in the station’s multimedia collaboration with the St. Louis Beacon, an online journal. A live broadcast of election results analysis will be simulcast on Channel 9, digital Channel 9.4, Charter cable Channel 108 and the KETC and Beacon Web sites, beginning at 7 p.m.

The WUSTL professors participating in the broadcast are: Radha Gopalan, Ph.D., assistant professor of finance at the Olin Business School; Mark R. Rank, Ph.D., the Herbert S. Hadley Professor of Social Welfare in the George Warren Brown School of Social Work; and James V. Wertsch, Ph.D., the Marshall S. Snow Professor in Arts & Sciences and director of the McDonnell International Scholars Academy and of International & Area Studies.

When PBS national election coverage begins at 9 p.m., the live broadcast will continue on the Web sites, digital Channel 9.4 and Charter Channel 108. The WUSTL professors will join St. Louis Beacon reporters, political analysts, Channel 9 producers and a Donnybrook panel in the studio for analysis and up-to-the minute coverage of local election results.
