The symposium, sponsored by the Graduate Student Senate of Arts & Sciences in partnership with the Graduate Professional Council and the Association of Graduate Engineering Students, offered an opportunity for graduate and professional students to present their own advanced work to an audience of non-specialists and allowed them to hone the communication skills necessary for grant and proposal writing as well as job interviews.
