The annual health open enrollment period for the health/dental and dental only plans, the health and child care flex spending plans, the Health Savings Account (HSA) and the Retirement Medical Savings Account (RMSA) will be from Nov. 1-Nov. 30, 2010. Enrollments and changes to these plans made during the open enrollment period and before the Nov. 30 deadline will be effective Jan. 1, 2011, for calendar year 2011.
Personal online enrollment is available this year.
You must finalize your online enrollment or send in your enrollment paperwork before the Nov. 30 deadline for enrollments and changes to take effect for 2011.
No action is required to:
- Continue current health/dental or dental only plans and have no dependents covered
- Continue current contribution to the RMSA
Action is required to:
- Verify dependent eligibility in health/dental or dental only plans (see below)
- Verify spouse/domestic partner health premium surcharge (see below)
- Enroll or change health/dental or dental only plans
- Re-enroll or enroll in health or childcare Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
- Re-enroll or enroll in Health Savings Account (HSA)
- Enroll or change Retirement Medical Savings Account (RMSA)
Important changes for 2011:
- On-line enrollment/dependent verification through Employee Self Service
- Verification of dependent eligibility for health/dental required during open enrollment
- New definition of eligible dependent for health/dental
- Verification of spouse/domestic partner health premium surcharge required during open enrollment
- Health Care Reform required changes
- New $50 glasses/contacts allowance added to Vision plan
Health/dental monthly premiums:
Our 2011 health/dental premiums are based on the benefit plan changes above, the university’s commitment to maintain its 79% share of the total premiums and a two tier annual salary structure (under $33,000 and $33,000 or over).
Attend employee informational meetings:
Employee informational meetings will be conducted from Nov. 2-23 at all campuses. Since the open enrollment period is the only time during the year in which you may enroll in the flex spending plans, the RMSA and the HSA and knowing the importance of making the best decision for you and your family, there will be 20 employee informational meetings in convenient locations on all four campuses and two West County sites, as well as a conference call with our Rolla Heart Care Institute employees. Also, with the addition of on-line enrollment this year, there will be 11 computer sessions with benefits staff available to assist you and there will be a short demonstration of the on-line enrollment process at the end of every employee meeting. The employee meeting and computer session schedule will be included in the open enrollment brochure as an insert and may be found on our websites as of Nov. 1 at http://hr.wustl.edu or http://medschoolhr.wustl.edu.
