Dance Marathon organizers are working hard to raise event awareness within the St. Louis and WUSTL communities. Community engagement is growing as area high schools are being encouraged to start mini dance marathons and local businesses are offering in-kind donations for the silent Miracle Auction. Recently, Cheese-ology in the Delmar Loop hosted a benefit night, with a portion of proceeds going to Children’s Miracle Network.
Campus awareness activities have included new modest incentive programs for top fundraisers and a heightened social media presence.
To push registration and national awareness, organizers are in the process of submitting a “Dance Dares” video, which features the chancellor’s best dance moves and footage of dancers on and off campus to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
